Scrintal concepts
1. What are Blocks, Docs, and Boards?
Blocks are the fundamental elements that make up everything. They can be text blocks, images, lists, and various types of embedded media, such as videos, files, docs and boards.
Docs are rich text documents composed of blocks. Simply put, a doc is one or more blocks arranged in a linear format, like a traditional document.
Boards are infinite, flexible canvases where you can freely arrange content. You can add blocks, docs, and even other boards. Any block that can exist in a doc can also be placed on a board.
2. What is the Library?
The library is where all or your docs and boards are stored. You can easily find everything by using the search tool or browsing through the pages in the left-hand sidebar.
Docs and boards can be reused across multiple projects, so there's no need to copy and paste information. This also reduces the risk of outdated or inconsistent information in your work.
3. What is the Desk?
The desk is a personal board, giving you your own space to organize as you like. Many people use it to track ongoing work, manage tasks, or jot down quick notes.
4. What are Links and Connectors?
Links are bi-directional connections between items in your library. They are created through the content of your docs and are global, meaning they logically connect docs across your entire library, whether they are on the same board or not.
Connectors are visual lines that link items on a board. You can draw them using the connector tool in the board's toolbar. Connectors are local, meaning they only exist on the specific board where they're created.
