Working with Docs
1. What does a Doc include?
A doc on a board (or your desk) has a title, content, and a link section, and it can be shown in three different layouts on a board.
Compact - a minimized and folded doc, showing only its title.
Snippet - a doc with a set height, showing part of its content.
Full - a full sized doc, which will grow with its content.
The link section, showing what the doc links to as well as what links to the doc, can be toggled on or off using the "Toggle Links Section" button.
2. How do I create a Doc?
There are several ways to create docs;
You can click the "Create doc" button on the Docs browse page.
You can use the "Create New Doc" button in the board toolbar to create and place a new doc on your board. The same thing can be done by pressing the D button.
You can click the "All blocks" button, locate the "New Doc" block, and place it on your board.
You can create a new doc by using the URL shortcut: .../app/doc/create?title=A new doc title here
3. How can I edit a Doc?
You can immediately edit a doc's title by clicking it. When a doc is shown in its full layout, you can also edit the contents just as simply as putting your cursor in the doc. You can at any time double-click the top part of a doc to open it up in a text editor window, a.k.a. Doc Window.

Doc titles can be up to 140 characters long. For more writing-related tips, please check the text editor functions.
4. How can I delete a Doc?
Deleting a doc means to remove a doc from your library.
You can delete a doc permanently in three ways:
You can click on the three dots in the top right corner of the doc and select the Delete option.
Right-click on the doc while on the desk or board and select the option Delete.
3. In the sidebar's "Docs" section, find your doc, click "options," and select "delete" to delete your doc.
Deleted docs are moved to the Recently Deleted section and stay there for an additional 30 days before they are permanently deleted.
5. What do the Locate, Maximize, and Close buttons do?

The buttons in the top right corner of a doc that is open in a Doc Window, are called the Locate, Maximize, and Close buttons.
If you click on a doc's Maximize button, you will go to focus writing mode.
If you click on a doc's Locate button, you can place the doc on your board using your mouse or trackpad.
If you click on the Close button, the doc window will be closed.
6. How do l add an already open Doc to my Desk/Board (e.g., for Docs opened from the Sidebar)?
If an open doc is not already on your desk, you can click the Locate button on the top right of the doc to add it to your desk. The desk will scroll to the newly added doc automatically.
7. How can I export my Doc?
You can download your doc as .md or save it as PDF.
When opened in a window, you can click the 3 dots icon on the upper right-hand side. Then, you can select download as .md or save as PDF options
In the left-hand sidebar's "Docs" section, find your doc, click "options," and select "Download .md" to export in Markdown format.
